RARE MATCHED PAIR OF ALADDIN ALACITE CHERUB OR ANGEL LAMPS – CIRCA 1940 Each lamp measures approximately 15″ high (to top of socket) by 3 3/8″ in diameter at the base. These are most likely model number G-46 lamps and have green bases. There is some wear to the gilding which encircles the bases of each lamp. Alacite glass was the creation of Henry Hellmers and in his words was described as, an ivory opal glass. ” It was described in Aladdin advertising material as, “A startlingly beautiful lamp base, and pedestal material, which resembles many of the semiprecious mineralites in texture, and has much of the softness and tone of tusk (genuine ivory) – the only color in which it is available. The lamps are in excellent condition. There are no chips or cracks. Each one is signed’Aladdin’ on the underside.
